Signs of respiratory infections?

deuce02 Nov 13, 2004 01:15 PM

just received a new bearded less then a week ago. He was shipped via overnight delivery. Heres the thing. first day seems 100% started eating and was very active. Now he is not eating and every once in a while he makes a rasping sound, but only for a second. Hes about 7 months, 16" and over 170grams. I had once get what my vet said was a respiratory infection, they started him on antibiotics and he passed that night. He was doing from what i can tell, the same kinda noise. He will be going to the vet on monday, but i want to get an opinion first. any info would be great. Also, could shipping in cold weather be the prime reason for his problem if it is infact a respiratory infection. All of his housing needs are met, 110-115 basking, low 80s the rest of the cage.

Hi
i think you r right !
sounds youre discribe like a respiration faulure.
it can come from to cold and to humit.
you need to be between the 30% and max 65%
if its to low it can be to dry for him.
and above the 65% he can get a respiration problem.
i asume you have a good vet?
he wil give you baytril i gues .
the temps you talked about r very nice i like a hot baskingspot .
and the 80 in the cooler side is ok to.
