Update on my new savannah...a good update actually

kevinBD1 Nov 13, 2004 03:00 PM

Well i dont think things could be going much better. Thursday he scarfed down a fuzzy/hopper and today he ate a pinky without thinking twice, and inbetween those two meals he's been eating crickets i think, i havent seen him eat any. He's active, and actually growing to like handling. I have another question though. Can someone or a few people give me a proper feeding schedule, and balanced diet to feed to him at this age/size. he is about 6 or 7 inches, and up until i got him he was being kept in a 10 gallon tank, so if someone could give me a good healthy feeding schedule including what to feed i would really appreciate it.

thank

P.S. I really appreciate everybody's input, it really helps and makes things easier and more rewarding.

Good to hear it's eating...

I feed my savvy at least 12 crickets once a day, no more than 20. Once every 2 weeks I give her 2 pinkies at once, maybe 3, depends.

I try to feed her every day, as I feel bad if I miss a day.

Good luck

Mike

When my savs were that small I fed them alot.
I fed them 2 pinkies 3 days a week and a hand full of dusted crickets daily. I never counted the crickets, I grabbed some, and dropped them in and watched them go bye bye.
I have never kept any of them in anything smaller than a 40 gallon breeder.
