Got my first blood today!

spottedturtleman Nov 13, 2004 04:39 PM

I got him at the philly show today for $65, He has not even struck once .NERD had some very nice bloods and I did see two albinos at another table for $2000, I thought they would be more. In the spring I am looking forward to getting at least two females. Did anyone else go to the philly show?

Congrats on the little blood. Soon you'll be addicted and have more of the little buggers. I did not go to the philly show today just a local one here in michigan. I got to see sarawak's in person today, they look so neat, I only wish i could have gotten a pair of them.

i went to the philly show, first i went to the all maryland show, and traded an argus monitor for two baby borneo bloods, then i went to philly. there were alot of nice bloods there, alot of nice snakes all together. I brought tehm home made a mini snake rack from some sterlites, hooked up some flex watt to a ranco set it for 92 on the hot end and let em fly, put three hides in each cage, a nice small water bowl, and let em go, i'll check on them in about a week or so, and try to feed them. Anybody have any first time blood tricks of the trade, shouldnt be too much harder than some of my monitors.

92 is a bit hot.. If they are little babies (im assuming they are?) a cage thats large enough for hot/cool sides and lots of hides is typically too large and can stress the animal. Try gettin ambient temp around 82-84 and put them in some ventalated rubbermaid shoebox containers. Good luck with your new aquisitions, if you have any questions feel free to post them.
