im confused about the age of my dragon because the guy at the store told me he was ten wks but when i compared him to pic of a 10 wk old and a 4 day old he was exactly the same as the 4 day old. thanks

I will try to answer both of your questions.

1. Diet. At this age your baby needs as much protien as he can get. He should be eating about 90% animal protien and 10% veggies. So it sounds like he is doing ok. Dont feed only crickets through try to vary the diet, you can feed crickets, wax worms, silk worms, butter worms, and occasionally very small mealworms. At this age you should be dusting all the meals with a good calcium powder. Keep offering veggies though because as he gets older he should slowly start eating more and more of them. You can also start supplementing less as he gets older.

A few general beardie tips, at this age your beardie should be housed on paper towels or some other unedible substrate. As he gets older (about 6months) you can switch him onto fine grade washed play sand. Never, no matter what the pet store tells you, use calci-sand. Keep your beardie nice and warm, his hot spot should be around 95-110degrees. And he should also have a UVB light.

As for his age its hard to tell without a picture, if you can take one and post it that would be good. How long is he? If you tell us how long he is we can try to guess the age.

thanks a lot i just measured him and hes about 5and a half inches from tail to head. my only problem is that i offer him lettuce everyday but i dont know what else to feed him and how to cut it. if u could help that would be great the little guy is right here typing with me hes on the key board.

There is really no way to tell age unless you know the exact hatch date. The beardie could be very malnourished and undersupplemented and very well be 10 weeks old and still be the size of a 4 week old. It could also be a runt of the clutch and just not be growing at a normal rate or even have a set of parents that came from the same clutch and it's growth is stunted due to inbreeding..... there's really no way of knowing when you buy from a pet store that probably doesn't even know themselves when it was born........... Just my opinion.....

You can feed lettuce (Romaine, Green leaf, red leaf...NEVER iceburg) finely chopped carrots, shredded purple cabbage, mustard greens, dandilion greens, collard greens, kale (occasionally) there are lots of things to feed. Just make sure theya re very finely chopped
