Hey, that desert king has an interesting zig-zag pattern, I've never seen that before in this subspecies. very cool. i do feel a bit sorry for the fancy mouse. i keep um as pets, the weird thing is i feed white and other uni-colored mice to my snakes without thinking twice... yeah i know it's weird but some fancies are soooooo cute. as far as some one not liking your feeding pix, i like um, i mean i don't mess with my snakes when the are feeding, but i guess we all do things in our own special way. keep posting!

Hey you posted an ad selling a Brooksi King and you had another King in the pic. Im assuming thats a Blotched King ?? Anyway it looked really nice do you have another pic of it. Is it that silvery white or is it just the flash that made it look so ?

Regards,

Keith

ZFelicien Nov 14, 2004 10:04 AM

yeah, I'm the guy trying to sell that Brooksi. he's actually very yellow. so i guess the flash makes him appear lighter. i have tons of pix of him unfortunately they wont fit on here. if you send me your email address, I'll send you more pix of him. my email is ZFelicien@aol.com So please contact me.

Keith Hillson Nov 14, 2004 11:23 AM

Im actually referring to the other snake in the pic. There are 2 of em. one is a brooksi the other looks like a goini. If possible send me or post pics of the Goini.

I noticed a ring on your finger so I assume you are married. But your posts on here make you look like a little kid...trying to show off. Yeah alot of people on here don't mind your posts showing how you can feed your snakes in your hands but I and others don't agree. Your posts are immature and you may think you're cool but you're not.

JETZEN Nov 13, 2004 08:57 PM

Do yourself a favor and don't look at my pics anymore because there are more feeding shots on the way! and I hope you don't like it!

coolhl7 Nov 13, 2004 10:05 PM

keep the photos coming.....snakes can't lick us like a pet dog...the best way they can reward us is to eat and thrive and reproduce....

JETZEN Nov 14, 2004 12:03 AM

Thanks AND u-bet my pics are gonna be happenin. As far as i'm concearned 1 good compliment to 50 bad is all i need. I'm gonna take some baby feeding pics right now YEE-HAAAAWWWWW!!!

BlueKing Nov 14, 2004 01:02 AM

Ok, count me in!(Now that I have my new camera I'll be a show off too!!!) DON'T HATE - PARTICIPATE!!!
C'mon now - one reason the forum exists is because we are all here to learn and SHARE knowledge. Another is to "show off" our animals in any way we like as long as it is in good taste. THERE IS nothing wrong with that! The more "show-offs" we have here on the forum, the more the rest of us will benefit from learning and seeing the awesome diversity that exists in these beautiful snakes or their habits - After all no two snakes are ever exactly alike! So I'm glad we have folks out here like (Brad)JETZEN, KEITH, PETER, THOMAS, WILL, SASHEENA, KERBY, (MYSELF), etc. that like to show us pics of their animals and offspring. I for one REALLY enjoy seeing the pics. I don't care if they're eating, sleeping, having sex, rearing up to strike it doesn't matter! A pic is worth a thousand words! I actually benefit from this, because sometimes I'll see something I really like that I didn't know was out there (and now I want it LOL)!

REALITY CHECK: A pic of a snake eating is the same as a snake sleeping - It is NATURAL! If you can't look at some certain pics of snakes eating, do like my wife does: Don't look! What if you accidentally saw your pet snake eat? LOL!!! Would you get sick??? Maybe keeping snakes isn't for you - YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER GETTING AN HERBIVORE, LOL!

MY 1.5 cents! By the way, GREAT PICS Brad, (JETZEN) and thanks for sharing!

I AGREE! with you 100% LOL!

Jentzen.....keep up the good pics. If we only posted we got a new snake or had a problem this would be a very boring forum. I would not be reading this forum daily if that was the case. I have been to some other forums out there that are like that.....hmmm come to think of it i can't even remember there web address...lol Hmmm as a matter of fact i think my next pic will be a feeding, or a drinking, or a shedding or,or,or, whatever it has to do with my snakes just so we can stay involved and intereract with what we love.

Jim

JETZEN Nov 14, 2004 02:07 PM

series of pics of one or more of my snakes shedding is a future project of mine. After all there is more to life than just eating. I have always been fascinated by predatory life in action though, especialy gorging and always will, oh-well nobody's perfect. ANYWAY, i'm looking forward to seeing any pics you have to share.

Sasheena Nov 14, 2004 11:19 AM

Thanks for including me!

This has been an interesting topic. I remember a while ago when there was a dialogue and I realized that one of the reasons why people take pictures while feeding is that is a time to get the snake to stay still... and I accept that as a reason....

BUT, and there had to be one didn't there? ....

I still don't like them... and I tried to figure out why I didn't like the feeding pics... I mean, I see my snakes strike and kill live prey, I watch them while they down their meals, I'm fascinated by the act of eating that snakes go through each meal.... but I still don't like pictures of it. And finally it came to me why it is I dislike pictures of snakes eating...

Snakes are gorgeous, no doubt there, but with a prey item distorting their head, face, and neck, they look ridiculous and it diminishes their inherant beauty. THAT is why I dislike feeding pics.

So while I have no problem with JETZEN, I do appreciate the disclaimer "feeding pics" so that I can avoid looking. I would love to see pictures of his critters without mice/rats stuck in their mouths, but in general, I avoid his posts because they so frequently have pictures of snakes feeding. HEck, I avoid pictures from ANY of my favorite posters on this forum if they mention that they have a feeding pic.

I do admit ... on a sudden note... that if I saw a picture of a two headed snake feeding, I would want to see that, as that wouold be fascinating. But that's about it.

Anyway, hope nobody was offended by what I said here, as I wasn't trying to do that.

AND here's a picture...

That was very well said, it does take away from the beauty of the snake. Maybe if he (or you Jetzen) could add one none feeding picture to his (your) post of each snake, would be great! We could see just how magnificent his (your) snakes are.

Hotshot Nov 14, 2004 07:42 AM

You are the only one who has voiced dislike of Jetzen's pics. I for one like them, I enjoy looking his snakes. You know why?? Because they evidently are handled alot, well taken care of, and his husbandry skills are pretty obvious!!! If you dont like them, dont look at them! I hand feed almost all of my snakes as well, and think there is nothing wrong with it. Dont put the man down for what he enjoys doing, be alittle more positive and not so hard on someone who has, IMHO, done nothing wrong. It would be different if he was posting pics of himself hand feeding hots, but as far as being a show-off?? Not in my book!

So JETZEN, keep those pics coming man, I enjoy looking at them!

THANKS Hot Shot, I see your a ratsnsake enthusiest, I have a few myself, right now i'm working on some very jittery white oaks about 5 footers and soon they will be chowin down in hand. obsoleta are much more difficult than getula,IMO.

Sean Nov 14, 2004 02:49 PM

I've gotten several emails from other people that have chosen not to post anything but they pretty much agree with me 100%. Either way, my opinion is that it's childish. I've NEVER seen anyone post so many pics of feeding their snakes in their hands. And to newcomers that have never kept snakes, I think seeing something like this is really not the right thing to teach. We all know that if you pick up a mouse with your hands, that scent is now on you and you're more likely to get bit if you pick up a snake. So I don't really think it's the smartest thing to do.

JETZEN Nov 14, 2004 03:23 PM

Your'e wrong "one one" LOL! HotShot is correct, Now why don't you post a pic of the watersnake again,LOL!

Sean Nov 14, 2004 03:34 PM

I could post copies of the emails but I would have to ask permission first. And I haven't found any Nerodia lately but I did find this yesterday in Georgia.

JETZEN Nov 14, 2004 03:50 PM

site start bugging me my feeding in hand pics are gonna continue. And that's a great EDB, you may have the final word now but it will not work. THIS DISCUSSION IS OVER.

Tom Anderson Nov 15, 2004 07:43 AM

but I just choose not to look at the pictures... actually I looked at the first couple dozen, and then it just got old hat and really annoying.

And I am not one of the people that emailed Sean.

chrish Nov 14, 2004 10:14 PM

I see Jentzen's pics as little more than puerile attention seeking gimmicks. They remind me of the posts by another person on some of these forums who posts dozens of pics of his ringnecks eating other snakes.

He/she is entitled to post them, absolutely. And we are entitled to interpret the posts as we see fit.
