Is this a Clark Spiny Lizard?

kglizardboy Nov 13, 2004 09:24 PM

Hello everyone,

We found a lizard in King George, VA. It does not appear to be native to the area. The lizard is between 3 - 4 inches in length (7 - 8 inches including the tail). We believe it is a Clark Spiny Lizard because:

* it is has a brownish color,
* it has bluish patches on its belly,
* it as dark bands around its legs.

The one thing that appears unusual is the dark patches on its belly near its legs. We believe the lizard may have been kept because of its long nails.

We have posted pictures at the following URL's:

Thanks in advance for your help.

Wow. I stop reading the forums here for a while, and all of a sudden the place starts getting visited by `herp gods'.

Guess the sane people left.
