Any pics of Corn Snake Bites?

toiletoctopus Nov 13, 2004 10:01 PM

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting to get interested in reptiles, especially snakes. I find them fascinating creatures. Does anyone have any pics of a bite wound from a corn snake, or any other species of snake? I'm curious about which snakes can inflict the most damage, and which ones are the least. Thank you for any information, as I've learned a lot about snakes from this forum, but some pics would help me understand more.

Most corn bites are insignificant. If I'm in a sporting mood in the morning, I'll get one to bite me (not that easy) and take a picture for you. It's basically the equivalent of one of those tiny scratches you get when you walk too close to a stickerbush (barely enough to draw blood). By blood, I mean tiny red scratches, not drops.

A kitten can draw more blood in 2 seconds than a corn can in it's lifetime. Are you frightened of kittens? While I despise being bit by anything(including my 7 month old son and his 2 newfound bottom teeth)I dont even flinch anymore.

Still don't see it? Look harder! Still don't see it? It doesn't hurt any more either. Haven't even cleaned it up. Never drew blood. Paper cuts hurt worse. Don't be afraid of it, just make sure you wash your hands before and after handling your snake - if you have any germs out the outside of your hand the small cut can let them go under your skin and could cause an infection or sickness. So prevent this. Wash with Dial.
