Any good cage designs out there? Is this cypress mulch safe?

poisonfrog420 Jun 30, 2003 05:08 PM

I am looking to build 2 cages that are about 4X4X5X. Just checking to see if any one knows a good site or could post their designs. Also, how do you starlize large peices of wood from out side? It won't fit in the oven. Also, is the cypress mulch you buy at the supermarket for plants safe to use with frilleds? Any one have problems with it?

I use cypress mulch for most of my snakes and lizards. I like it alot. I've used it for quite some times now, so I doubt it does any harm to the reptiles. Many have suggested it to me before, so I believe it's as safe as it could be. I think it looks great, if you're going for a natural look, and it's great for humidity.
For branches from the outside, I just soak the for a day or so it steaming hot water, scrub them off real good, and rinse. I usually spray black knight on them too, it kills alot of bugs. That's what I usually do and it have never cause me any problems.
