What's her problem? PMS?

crtoon83 Nov 13, 2004 11:18 PM

no offense to the ladies out there....but my neonate female bairdi is really acting like she has a severe case of it, lol. She has always buzzed her tail when I pick her up, but tonight when I went to feed her, she got very agressive. she snatched up the pinky and i realized i needed to give her some water so i was moving up to the tank with the water bottle and she struck at me about a dozen times!!! She has NEVER done this before!

Here she is in "attack" position lol

I don't know if that was the case here, but even some of my calmest snakes can be a little spooky at feeding time, and especially just after they have had one and are looking around for snack # 2. I can pick 'em up any old time (yes, my baby baird's still rattles his tail at me...He's so little that it's kinda cute), but once they have eaten, some of them just get "the look" for awhile, and I don't put my hands too close until the feeding-response subsides. "Post-Mouse Syndrome" :D
