I just found out today according to the fish and game that caiman
s can't be kept in new jersey even with a permit! i have been
wanting one for over a year now. I know all that I think I'd

ok kc .....please remember im in the uk so am not up on u.s.a. state laws.
in the uk we have to have a d.w.a. lisence .now many councils,do not like dwa animals in their area or in your case state.i am actuly going through it now at the moment to aquire a palp.now we in the uk go by the dwa law 1976 for this country and it states that the dwa lisence's are governed by the local authorities...self regulated....to which many councils refuse, keeping their area free of dwa animals.

now the law states that to aquire a dwa lisence you must first prove yourself knowledgeable, have the right enclosure, good security, and at least 1 million public liability insurance.
you then have to pay in my case 104 pounds for the lisence fee,
and pay the vet fees for the vet to inspect the animal every yaer.even when you can do all this the council still tries to refuse you saying it is up to them to let you have it or not.
in my case not...(yet)however what i did was research the law.
bloody hard work for a lay person like me and i found that anyone is allowed to apply for a dwa lisence, yes they must still meet the required standerds above but if they do then there is no reason for them to be refused.(other then political).
i also found that if they still refuse when i am meeting the requirments for the dwa act 1976 that they will in fact be breaching my (human rights)which seems to be correct.
my case is still ongoing but they havent won yet!!!!!.
my point check all angles before giving up.....the human rights
act is very good for finding loop holes.....
good luck........
