Final BT enclosure pics, sorry for all the posts on this

Neilgolli Nov 14, 2004 06:25 AM

but I know it would have helped me to see some more pics before I started so I hope that they helped someone out. Juno loves his new home, very roomy and room to grow, he dug for hours last night.

total the enclusure has 1700 of dirt and 200 lbs of sand plus nearly 250 lbs of oak tree, luckily the rocks are called feather rocks and only wieghed about 8lbs each, got them at home depot as last minute add on for only $6 each

Nice BT, mine has a similar background color, that peach, salmon look. i built my cage 4 x 8 x 32" high. and i stacked one on top of the other, it turned out pretty good, just have the basics in it for now, i'll add everything as i get it ie. logs etc all i have now are a basking rock, water bowl, lots of cypress mulch and a couple hide boxes.

with all of the hurricans, there are logs all over the place my wife did not love carring those things in with me, but I think that they worked out great. I need to add an addtional hid spot or prop a log under some dirt to creat a cave type hide as he was not able to dig and hold a tunnel in the dirt so he slept under the water bowl.

Post some pics of your enclusure love to check them out

If my brain is working before my second cup of coffee, I thought you had said that access was from the sides and top? Could you post a few pix of your these? It looks like the entire enclosure is on casters, how many did you have to put along the bottom (I'm guessing in my caffeine deprived brain that you are talking a total weight of around 3K pounds) and how easy does it roll?

Just being curious.

Not a problem, give me an hour or two and I'll take some pics of the side doors and top open. I have it set up on 6 casters (one on each corner and then two near the center on support beams) and your correct on total weight, just under 3000 lbs. By the way, I'm never moving as I dont want to have to ever take this down...lol

the dirt sloops from a high point of 24 inches in the back left to a low point of 15 inches in the front and right side under his water.
