How much do cresteds normally eat daily

earthpig23 Nov 14, 2004 12:37 PM

I have some new cresties..just got into them and think they can be addicting...Room temps stay around 72-75 degrees misted twice a day. They seem healthy and are settling down. I place babyfood in old 2liter bottle caps mixed with gargoyle diet. They eat it but usually only about half of the cap. Is this to little..i was thinking of doin gjust baby food with crickets..my large male its only half the cap but loves crickets till they get used to eating out of the caps..any suggestions. Oh they are all sexable age to give you a size idea...my baby seems to eat plenty for its size.

Cresties arent crazy about the diets taste. But it provides them with a much better mix of needed nutrients. Ive noticed mine will eat as many crickets as I supply and as little of the diet as they have too in between the cricket days. As long as they are eating from your caps dont sweat it they wont starve themselves. It requires much less (volume wise) of diets or babyfood to fill a cresty up.

I keep a small container of baby food mixed with the Crested Gecko Diet in my tank all the time. They seem to like the mix and I can tell they're eating out of it almost everyday. I do give crickets a couple of times a week and they eat all of those in an hour or two. They won't starve themselves, so if you can see that they're eating the baby food, don't worry.
