leopard gecko egg question

rangertig Nov 14, 2004 02:45 PM

It has been 8 weeks ago today that these eggs were laid. I've incubated them between 80-82 degrees. This past tuesday (Nov. 9th) one of the babies hatched. However, the other egg still hasn't hatched. Is it normal for one egg to hatch later than the other? Or do you think maybe the baby has died?
Also, the baby that has hatched, hasn't eaten yet. I know they usually eat after their first shed and I don't think she has shed yet. I have been looking for discolored feces, but have not seen any yet. She is 5 days old now and I am getting worried that she is not getting the proper nutrition. Thanks for your help!

keep her really hydrated. Sometimes babies will not drink on their own, spray down the enclosure lightly and watch to see if she drinks of the sides. Other than that, just wait for the first shed and she should be ok.

I would leave the other egg alone for now, it may hatch.
