1 year old captive raised.

Very nice. That looks very similar to the LTC female I lost last winter. Totally different from my Java specimens.

Have you had any breeding success with yours?
>>Have you had any breeding success with yours?
Hi Mike,
I try to e-mail you every now and then but it always bounces back. I saved the address from which you contacted me last year.
I have not had any success with breeding. I'm assuming when we last wrote that I had already lost all four of the fertile clutches I've managed to produce from Gonyosoma. I won't rehash all that.
In response to your post further down this thread where you mention a "formula", I don't there's been much resolution yet. I'm in contact with even more people from around the world and have even more translated articles from around the world. All mention problematic success with G. oxycephala and G. janseni.
My fiance and I are spending a lot of time house hunting and plan to be in a new place in the next few months. Hopefully then I can increase my collection even more and start focusing on breeding this species.
I'd like to help you pair up your specimen but it appears to be more of a Malaysian specimen, not Indonesian like mine. You should contact Chuck at Central Florida Reptile Breeders and see if he can track down some females for you.

Ok, so I just got a new digital camera. I rescued this from a petstore a year ago wen it was 12". Likes humidty, cypress mulch and a fuzzy once a week. It would be great if more people worked with these. I know there not a lot of healthy specimens offered out there, but these can be fairly easy to keep if you can find a good one.

I really like that blue tounge with the green body.
Is the tail very red?

Corn snakes and rat snakes..No one can have just one.

The tails can vary from rusty red in the extreme to plain dull brown as mine is. However, that is made up for with the cool blue tongue (which does flick like a typical snake's tongue, but hangs out motionless for a second or two) and green/blue/yellow coloring on the body. Mine behaves very much like the white lipped tree vipers I used to have - it hangs out up in the climbing branches and will grab a f/t fuzzy and eat it hanging from a branch. They are shy, also, and do not like to be handled or disturbed too much (at all). Mine hangs out on his climbing branches all day, but I have heard some like to stay buried in substrate.
Since these are found throughout the Southeast Asian islands, there are a lot of different color morphs - kind of like the mangrove monitors (common, blue tail, peachthroat, ect.). Some are yellow/grey, others are called by different names and are black or solid tan.
I can't believe folks would not want to reproduce these beautiful animals, so I am guessing no one has found the "formula" or been able to put together compatible specimens. Sounds like a fun project to me.
That is one sickeningly Gorgeous snake, good luck with it.
Nice snake, and also a nice view from the looks of the background. Where are you?
