Veiled, Jackson's, or Senegal?

reptilicus81 Nov 14, 2004 03:37 PM

Which of the three are the hardiest? We have a zoo already, but are looking to add a cham. to our home.
Thanks

Veiled's are reputed to be the *hardiest* compared to the other 2, but they still are relatively difficult to care for (as lizards go). You've probablly already done so, but look up a number of care sheets online (I have found that the best info comes from multiple care sheets & books & websites). The ChameleonJournals.com & this site (kingsnake.com) are pretty good on info. Also www.anapsid.org has a lot of info.
Good luck!

Veileds are the hardiest. Jacksons are also good if you're able to meet the temp & humidity requirements. Although the Senegals look cool, they are usually imports and problems easily occur with internal parasites. Definitely a no-no for the beginner.

Thanks for the information! There is such a variance in the info on the internet, so it is nice to hear from someone first hand!
