Hey i cant really help you on this topic because i dont have an ackie, but i hope to get one really soon. how long have you had your ackie? How do you like it as a pet so far? sorry for the questions but im just intersted in how ackies are as pets, i have researched them all i can but read from a caresheet and actually talking to some one that has one is way different. thank >sam

i love him so far i have some tweaking to do on his setup for example he needs alot more cypress mulch right now hes got about 2,2.5 inches. hes about 14in long i hope to get him over the biting thing but overall i love him. he very entertaining loves to climb on my head and jump from my shoulder thinking he can grab on to a wooden door lol

My suggestion would be to leave him alone and just go about your daily maintenance of his enclosure until he comes up to explore you. I did this with my tiny babies for two months, and one day just reached over and stroked one and picked it up. No fear, no biting. Just something else the stupid human does.

But mostly, please get rid of the cyprus mulch and get a foot or more of real dirt in your ackie's enclosure. You'll have a much happier ackie.
