Together at last

Howdy all!!
The quarantine period ended for my female Leo last week, so I put her in with my male and the night before last, he was grabbing her neck and trying to position himself to control her. I have an incubator just in case she lays eggs, but I need some advice here.
1. How long should it take her to lay eggs after mating?
2. Should I use vermiculite or perlite as the substrate for incubation?
3. What temperature should I keep the eggs at in the incubator?
4. How long will incubation last before hatching?

Here is a pic of the two of them together.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Nothing against your husbandry methods, but I would try to get her fattened up before breeding her. She looks a little thin to be starting a breeding season.
I am incubating in both mediums this year, the vermiculite stays damp all the way to the surface and the perlite holds the moisture at the bottom so the eggs can suck it up as needed. I've had success using both so it comes down to a personal preference. Females can be produced at 81-83 degrees, mixed from 84-87 (more females at the low side), and males at 88-90. If the same temp is maintained throughout the incubation period females should hatch between 43-48 days and males as early as 37 days. These numbers are from my own personal experiences and I'm sure that other breeders here will have other opinions. For details on incubation you can visit Albey's site at www.albeysreptiles.com he has a wonderful step by step with photos.

I know it's hard but do the right thing and get more weight on your female before you allow them to mate. Be sure the food you feed the female is gut loaded and that you dust the food with calcium prior to feeding her.
Good luck

to all of you for the information and suggestions. I was wondering if she looked a tad thin, especially compared to him. I will separate her from him and gut load her like I did him when I first rescued him. Thanks again and I will keep you posted.
