If you are talking about a baby or juvenile I keep mine on anything that they can't ingest. Newspaper, paper towel, towels, butcher paper, shelf liners, vinyl tiles, all work well.

I use shredded aspen bedding. I have seen them eat it with no ill effects over the last 7 years. Many people may think this is wrong, but I have never had an impaction or any other problem. Good luck Douglas Beard / Flora & Fauna

Hi, recently I have been using Timothy hay for my juvenile rhino. It seems to be working out. It is soft, it smells nice and if he eats it it shouldnt cause any issues. So far I have not seen him eat any tho. I had the timothy laying around for my tortoises and thought to give it a try. So far so good. I think cycluracornuta uses hay as well indoors in the winter.
