Ya it was produced by the same people who make barbies! It's as plastic as plastic goes, it does not even sit on the cardboard straight
If in fact it is plastic whoever made it did a pretty good job. The tail looks a little thin but if you look at the detail in the skin where the legs connect to its body you could think it was real. Also how the back right leg isn't touching the ground it almost looks as if it's walking if you note how the front left leg is further ahead than the right.
I've done Taxidermy since 1974 and I ordered that Reproduction Gila Monster from Van Dyke's Taxidermy Co. in the late 1990's. I painted it "Albino phase" and posted on the Field Collecting Forum as a practical joke (I believe in 2000). I've taken numerous other photo shoots with it.
It is not real but was casted from a real gila. Thats why it is anatomically correct.
