i am thinking of building a cage for my kingsnakes out of pine. but i've read that pine chips may be toxic to kings. is this true? or is it safe to keep them in the cage?

Ive heard the same thing. I wouldnt use pine for the cage because I do believe it is the oils that are toxic. There are plenty of other good woods to build out of, try looking into another one.
