Thanks to all who responded! Eastern's are badasses! They are one of my favorite snakes. I find it interesting that the easterns and floridas showed higher resistence levels than the other subspecies. I had always thought desert kings and californians were the major "rattler killers." Neat to know though. Great picture, (eastern king on diamondback) by the way!
As far as the black milk vs. king goes, I'm still not sure. I've had eastern kings before, and they would be a tough customer, but californians, nah 
. On the other end, my black milks are V-O-R-A-C-I-O-U-S feeders. And have you ever seen the adults? They're huge! I still think it's up in the air...
