Feeding questions

momtowildones Nov 15, 2004 10:18 AM

Does anyone feed their leopard geckos lobster roaches. I am trying to get away from crickets! I have heard mixed reviews on feeding only mealworms, so I am wondering about lobster roaches!! Also-- does anyone feed or use as treats- silkworms. I have heard they are nutritious but are they used as part of the regular diet or as a treat? Thanks in advance for your input!

I used silkworms as a staple until I ran out of them. Silkworms are best nutrition wise but still dust them. Plus they are no noise, no stink, no hard to digest shell. But mix it up for the leo. Give him something different every now and then for variety. You can see the % of protein, fat, ect in silkies vs crickets on the beautifuldragons website. www.beautifuldragons.com then scroll down to Nutrition Content.
