He's afraid is all. Short pleasant handlings and eventually he'll figure out you're not going to eat him.

so even though that hes scared all i have to do is handle him for a little bit a day and eventually he'll become my friend or whatever?

Usually that's how it works. There are some exceptions but they're rare.

I've taught my dragon and a couple of Uros to be "hand friendly" by offering them a treat fed out of my hand. In the case of all three animals waxworms worked very well. Now, even when I don't have a treat, they walk up onto my hand when i put it in the tank.

Any positive experience they have with your hand or handling will reinforce their confidence in you.

Have you tried some bright colored food like strawberry, raspberry, red bell pepper. Mine usually so right for food like that.

MMMMMMM. Thats all well and good but mine goes for my fingers if i go in with some food or not. Hes getting to the size where he will start to do some damage!!

I've been bitten by dragons and have never had any damage to the skin. Am I missing something?
