A little off topic question about rabbits

cowtownherper Nov 15, 2004 01:52 PM

I know this is a corn snake forum, but its where I hang out most of the time. I know some of you keep larger snakes and might have an opinion. I have a kid at my school who sometimes raises rats for me. He has stocked my freezer before with really nice rats. He told me today he could fix me up with some small rabbits. Is it a bad idea to introduce my Boas to rabbits. This may be a one shot deal. Ive heard of people offering gerbils to ball pythons and the bps not wanting to go back to rats. I just dont want to take a good eater and create problems later. Thanks to anyone who might have an opinion on this.

then stick to rats. when i started my jungle carpet python on to rats i never went back to mice. why create a problem later?
i know when some boas get big they will go to rabbits but if yours aren't that size yet i'd stick to rats. just my opinion

i have a 6.5 foot male boa that will readily go back and forth from rat to rabbit and back to rat again. i use about 4 week old rabbits or so for him. the rabbits are about the size of a medium cotton tail rabbit
