Lambs Quarters?

Solaris16 Jun 30, 2003 07:01 PM

Hi Everyone!

Has anyone ever feed lambs quarters to your iguanas? It's okay, don't worry, it's a plant :P They contain almost twice the amount of calcium as collards, and are insanely easy to grow (they are actually a naturally occuring plant in Canada)...how come no one recommends feeding these? Thanks! Wendy

Darn! And here I was picturing a bunch of iguanas chowing down on wool-covered lamb haunches!

But they also contain very high levels of oxalates, thus binding most of that calcium...

A little bit once in a while won't be a problem, but not on a regular basis...
