Jetzen,
Nice pics, but those kings look like they are suffering from feeding from hand withdrawal syndrome. Wassup? LOL
I don't feed my snakes live mice anymore after some got a preference to the live over frozen/thawed. I keep breeder mice for my snakes and always freaked out about getting bitten by them. I have been biten by mice so many damn times. I have only been biten by captive snakes 3 times in years of husbandry. Mice freak me out more than relocating rattlers or sidewinders from human populated areas. Here's a pic of an unfortunate sidewinder that wondered into my garage and my curiousity and fasination with the kingsnake species led me to put this sidewinder in the cage of a 6 ft. Yuma king. I will not do this again due to I would be devastated if there were an injury to the Yuma king.
Happy Herping,
Uncloudy

Absolutely beautiful animal there. Do you have a mate for this animal? Looks awesome. I want some.

That muttly is a character And I have two robust 04' FL-x-Eastern girls guarenteed to be monsters when they grow up for his future brides! should be interesting. Hey what happened to the big john and rat PIC!?!

BlueKing Nov 16, 2004 06:14 PM

That's the reason I have to wait until the feeding pic! I had to feed "Big John" (before this past weekend) while he was in blue, because my Eastern Indigo refused to eat for the first time, so I was stuck with an extra rat. I didn't want to refreeze it, and since I hate wasting food, I gave it to Big John, who gladly (and ferociously tore right in to it and ate it) Two medium rats in two days was quite a meal for him. I'm about to brumate him (in two weeks)and the others, so I will probably have to wait till spring, before I feed him again. Got to make sure he's ready for his task come spring! He's got two females to breed with!!!
Sorry about that, if the Indigo would have ate, then Big John would of been able to eat his rat last Saturday/Sunday and I WOULD of taken pics of the feeding, so you can see what a rat wrecker he is!

Thats a beautiful Speckled King. Who produced it? I have one from Isis that is similar and absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks for posting,
Dan

the classic Lemke speckled I bought from Mike and Isis of Ventura, actualy a 1.1 but the other is blue right now. The Lemke blotches also came from Isis Reptiles and I am very happy with all four they have a great feeding response. good snakes with good appetites are the best snakes, IMO.

Just a suggestion, take it for what it's worth to you.

Perhaps you should simply entitle your photos with a simple title....

"Blotched (feeding)" etc, rather than the variety of semi-sarcastic titles you've used for some of your recent posts. I know that some have expressed a dislike of your posts, but really, it would be useful if you simply stated what each photo was about rather than the reactionary names you're using.

Just a thought.

AND.... just because, here's a picture of one of my snakes:

Sasheena - Your picture is the best in this whole thread. Nice snake, great photographer! And classy .... I can actually see your snake, not just a mouse body (because we've never seen a snake eat a mouse....wait ... we all have kings ...)

Peace - Matt

I think the ones that don't like the feeding in hand pics or feeding live pics should be warned and thanks for reminding me about my sarcastic nature. Ya got some nice cali's, LOL ! no offence intended.

HerperHelmz Nov 15, 2004 07:29 PM

I see no hand in that pic! lol what's wrong did one nip you on accident?

I am possesed by my snakes, is that a mental illness? And I did get tagged recently but unfortunately it didn't cure my colubrid addiction. Getting bit was not the reason I wasn't feeding in hand. All the snakes in those pics already graduated the In Hand Feeding school except the cali, there's gotta be a rebel in every class. ANYWAY, hope your Diadophis are doing fine and keep in touch.
