Fourstrings88 Nov 15, 2004 08:36 PM

I would sort of like to bulk or fatten my Collard up a bit.He is seeming a bit skinny and I would like to see him filled in.

Any food substances to sprinkle on the crix or another food source or something let me know what you do to fatten your lizards up

Thanks

BUT NOT TOOOOOO FAT! lol

Some people use pinkies, I will leave that to you, as I do not and never have,

Anyway superworms, wax worms, and butter worms, are all fattning if fed often. Hope he bulks up for you!

You can always try an Italian Hoagie & Chips LOL Hahaaha

Couple things come to mind, you might try super worms, wax worms, and dusted crickets. You need to make sure temps are correct and toasty, you don't say what size your animal is but if it is large you might try a pinkie and see if it will take a pinkie. I think the ambient air tmep in the cage is important and condusive to good feeding as well. IS the little guy drinking water? I would keep him hydrated, another thing you might try is capture a few moths or grasshoppers as they really go nuts over those. I live in a rurual setting in Texas with farm land and wild land all around me, so I use a bugnapper made by zoomed to capture wild insects at night, next day I throw that "catch" in the cage which helps supplement my insectivorous animals.

I've been dealing with this for almost three weeks now. Three words:

Beef baby food.

Add a little vitamin and calcium powder, your collared will gain weight. Unlike mine, since they're ill. But yes. It will work.

Probably not documented in the field. Do you feed them the baby food through a syringe?
