Amusing

kingofspades Nov 15, 2004 08:51 PM

It's amusing how little the general public knows about snakes.

In the latest issue of Entertainment (i work at a hotel...only reason i am reading it)
there's an article on the new movie "Alexander" coming out, and Angelina Jolie (in all her yumminess) is holding what looks to me to be some sort of ratsnake. On the next page, she's holding a corn snake.
She plays Olympias, and charms snakes apparently.

Funny, egypt doesn't have common corns as far as i know.

but then again, this is something only corn snake fans, or total geeks like me, would notice

I'm currently getting a free subscription so I saw it too. I thought about posting about it earlier, but was embarrased to say that I was actually reading it. LOL. After only 1 issue, I can fully say that this magazine sucks.

Just for those who wanted to know, she's holding a carpet python in the one photo and a normal cornsnake in the other.

LOL I was once told to be careful with corn snakes because they could make you really sick if they bite. ROFLMAO!!! Maybe thats who the stars get their information from. Funny thing is.. we call ourselves weird. Maybe we need to start pointing our fingers at the real weirdos. LOL

Yes, but, Olympia and Alexander lived in Macedonia (just north of Greece) NOT Egypt...Okay, still no corn snakes or carpet pythons (and I thought I saw a ball python in one of previews on TV), but the sacred snakes used WERE a kind of European rat snake..Aesculepian Snakes, which still ilve in the region...As an Alexander geek, just wanted to set the record straight...
