I saw you had posted some pictures of how you had a drop in thing for your heat light, I was wondering if you could re-post those pics or email them to me please. My email is CRToon83@gmail.com. I want to re-create something like that, but I need to have a picture to show my g'pa whose helping me with this project. Thanks!

Do either of you happen to have the picture of the heating he did for his cage? I have the link but he's taken it out of his gallery on kingsnake.

Thanks

I believe it was Chris Harper that had the design for the drop ceiling.
You might find it by scrolling through the pages here, or asking Chris.

I believe he's refering to Captain Hook's angled/inset heating area. I don't have any pictures of that. That design is probably better suited to his current needs than my false ceiling.

Toon, why not just heat panels? Cash issues?

I was thinking heat panels, but I couldn't figure out how to put them in the bottom cages. Since i'll have a frame for the top one, I could put the self stick on the FRP below, but how would I attach it to the bottom tank? Also, having a GTP i'm afraid that it wouldnt heat the ambient temperature up high enough in the perch.

Hi Chris,

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you. Maybe you're confusing Radiant Heat Panels with Under Tank heaters? RHP's attach to the ceiling and direct heat towards the floor of the cage. UTH's go underneath the floor and heat conducts through it.

I would definately use a RHP for your Chondro. The rest of the cages might be heatable with UTH's, I don't know. It depends on several factors.

As you probably know I'm not a huge fan of undertank heating in relatively cool rooms.
