Dragon owner in need of help

grafitti12 Nov 15, 2004 09:33 PM

One of my fellow co-workers and good friend Nicole has a bearded dragon with yellow fungus. She has posted on this forum before. He was doing good for a while and the medication that was prescribed was working. Unfortunately the yellow fungus has gotten worse and is growing underneath his skin and around his eye. She can't afford to bring him back to the vet. I was wondering if anyone knows a reptile vet around the Boston area that could help her out. She is heartbroken that she can't afford to take care of him. She loves him soo much. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There was someone that posted about a year ago that said they treated it with out prescription medicine. I can't remeber what they did but it involved nolvasan. If you go and do a search for yellow fungus/ nolvasan you shoudl be able to find it! If you can't maybe someone remebers how that person did it?

The only other thing I can think of is that I remeber seeing a site on the main page of Kingsnake that was a fund source for people with emergency vet needs that don't have the money. You could check with them and see if they can help.

Also go to reptilerooms.com and check the knowledge base for yellow fungus and their might be something there that could help. Was she giving acidphilis during treatment? Or was she treating with Albon before the yellow fungus outbreak?

Hopefully some of this helps maybe some of the others can be a little more helpfull......

I need to know what her meds/dosing and treatment routine was in the past and has the dragon been on it continously?

You can also email me, I know who the person was who's vet tried the natural treatment routine on also. IT was very detailed and involved.
