thinking about getting a frilled dragon....

fatjay Nov 15, 2004 10:11 PM

hey,
i've been thinking about getting a frilled dragon, but i'd like a little input first. I currently have 3 bearded dragons and 2 corn snakes. I was just curious has to how similar the frilled dragon is to a bearded dragon. Do they require the same basic husbandry needs? food, heating, space, ect... How much do they cost? Any known reputable breeders?? Like i said, i have 3 bearded dragons so i'm well aware of the responsibility and time another animal would require. S/he would be well taken care of. Thanx for everything!

Hi, I have a frilled that is almost a year old. He is awesome! Frilleds are pretty easy to work with, just make sure it is CBB = captive born and bred, prices vary.
I got mine from Matt @ MB Reptiles his webpage is located at: http://www.mbreptiles.com/index.htm.
Also, If you look in the classifieds, Sundial has some available. Both, I think are excellent sources to get healthy animals. Sundial's website has an excellent care sheet too. My frilled is one of my favorite pets. I've had him since he was about 3 months old. His favorite thing to do is crawl into my shirt and take a nap. LOL he is really special, isn't he? As far as comparing them to beardies, I can do that too. Beardies are more outgoing than frilleds, but no more tame. And frilleds eat like there is no tomorrow, but I have some beardies that do that too. If you have any further questions, I would love to chat frilleds with you, just email me.

Thanx for the info! I guess this is a pretty slow forum, so i'd love to email you or anybody else who could give me some advice. I'm just thinking about getting a frilled, i'm not dead set on it yet. Just thought i'd get the opinion of other owners. Thanx again!!

I know my pic is off the topic, but i just got my a new camera today, and thought it was a cute picture of my male sandfire red.
