Black milks and Nelsons

Kevin Saunders Jun 30, 2003 07:41 PM

I've only seen one black milk in the classifieds. Is it not their season or something? I'd really like to get one soon, but I just can't find any available right now. I thought maybe someone here knows where I can find some. I might just break down and get some albino nelsons if I can't find any soon since I really like them too. What kind of temperament do nelsons have? Do they get as tame as a cornsnake or are they kind of jumpy (my friend has some pueblans and they're really skittish)? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Well, it's my understanding that gaigeae start hatching in late august so if you are looking for hatchlings you might have to wait. There are a few 02's floating around at a few of the breeder's.

I'd actually prefer a yearling if it's not marked up too high. You wouldn't happen to know of any particular breeders that have some 02's would you?

I found this link while looking around for info on black milks today. It looks like this guy has an extra male up for sale. Black milks are great snakes, I have a pair of '02s (the attached picture is of the female) and I've been very happy with them.

Thanks SO much. I was just at Don Hamper's Ohio reptile show last weekend when the big raid took place. I never would've thought to check his site since I asked at his table and he didn't have any. I'll e-mail him. Thanks again.
