Hi Eve,

I have also gotten myself 2.2 of these X. taylori. I have some trouble finding good info about them – only found this on the web:
http://www.herpindex.com/xtcare.html
http://www.gherp.com/taylori/xenagama.htm

Mine are very shy and often hide when I enter the room.

To begin with I had 1.2 in the same enclosure. One of the females was very aggressive and bit off the foot of the other.

Let me know if you know where I can get more info about these animals.

Jesper

And here is a pic of one of my females after shedding (except the tail):

They are probably the best care sheets out there. If I come across something better I will send them to you.

I have heard NOT to keep males together, as with most lizards they will fight badly. As far as females I have also heard they are sometimes larger than the males and will try and be dominant. As far as sitting on him to bask, hehehhehe .

I have also read, as you most likely saw also, that during breeding, they actually wrestle, and it looks as though they are fihgting.

Thats an awful shame about the ones foot being bit off. That I did not know they did. I'm waiting for my female to come in. But my male is pretty nice already. He stays out while I'm there.

I can reach in to pick him up , he may go to a corner , still nervous, but he allows me to pick him up, and seems calm.

I really like him ! I hope yours begin to get along better. I will only introduce 1 female to him, and see how they are together. I'll keep in touch, we can help each other with learning about them.

Nice to hear from you, hows the collareds and leopards ?

Hi Eve,

I know not to keep the males together - I will never do that.

The collareds are all hibernating for the moment. I had around 90 hatchlings this year, so they deserve a long sleep.

I don’t have the leopards anymore. But instead I now have 3 ackies. I think that they are my favourite lizards.

I have received your mail, but have deleted the link to the "Xenagama forum", as there were no activity. Can you help with the link again?

Jesper

Hi Jesper,

Your right the link has little action on it, me and one lady in the past 7 days but maybe the 3 of us can get it going? There must still be people who are breeding them.

As far as the ackies, I really think they are a beautiful lizard, just saw 3 gorgoeus ones for auction. But do they eat furry little things

I wish you much luck in all your NEW lizardy endevors

I have another dumb question: what's an ackie? I'd love to see a picture if they are as pretty as you say.
