Sure enuf, my male is chasing my female attempting to breed all the time. she rarely ever comes out of the leaves. She doesnt appear to be thining, ive seen her come out and chase a cricket. They must be using the fogger or the water it sprays on the side of the tank to drink because they havent shown any signs of dehydration yet. Other than the fact that the female stays in the plants all the time they seem to be happy. Im prolly gonna hafta setup another enlosure or get a larger tank, my current is a 20 long, i might upgrade to something larger. im thinking maybe a 30 - 50 gallon. Is there anyway i can adjust my photoperiod to discourage the male from attempting to breed?

btw ive named the male Ignatius and the female Lilith

You can try a photoperiod of 14 hrs. It may help but probably not since he appears intent.

you're right about it not helping. my current photoperiod is 14 hours now heh. I was looking at pet store and eyeing a 55 gallon tank. i was dreaming of a 75 gallon lol. ill prolly just get a 55 gallon since id spend less on the bigger tank then i would getting a second tank and setting another enclosure up. Ill keep the 20 gallon as an actual aquarium maybe or possibly for another reptile/amphibian. ive liked keeping newts a while back and now that i have some money coming in i can prolly set up a nice half land half water enclosure.

the best way to stop that is to add at least one more female. the male will have more females to chase and, consiquently, each female will have more time to rest
