mexican black king... help!

itsall4u88 Nov 16, 2004 04:05 PM

i have had a mexican black king snake for about a year now and i have had zero problems with feeding, in fact he has been a excelent eater. but for the past 2 months he wont eat at all, I have always fed him pre-killed frozen mice and hes been happy with that i have tryed everything, i got mice from a different store thinking something might be wrong with the mice, but no luck. and i know they wont eat if there too cold but he has a under tank heater that is on 24/7 and a light on durring the day on half of the tank. i got a higher wat bulb just in case but it hasnt made a difference. anyone have ANY ideas? id rather not take him to the vet but its kinda lookin like i might have to.

I have several Kingsnakes. One of them is a 3yr old MBK. He has refused to eat for the past three weeks. I brumate all my adult snakes every year and it's that time again. Although he is still in his display aquarium he has decided on his own that he is ready to do his yearly cool down. Males especially, but I've got some females also, that are aware of the shorter days and just plane decide on their own to take long naps. I have stopped feeding all my adults and will set them up for the winter right after Thanksgiving.
