Sick Uro?

tandy10 Nov 16, 2004 05:47 PM

Do you think my uro is sick?

Quest has been doing great. Yesterday I noticed he was not running around quite as much, but otherwise he appeared fine.
Today he never got up. He stayed in the same spot sleeping.

I put my hand in a little while ago to see if he was OK and he came out. He ate some collard greens from my hand and is now sleeping again.

Do they do this now and again, or is this the sign that he is sick?

Ares does that every now and then. I think it's because some days he just runs around and around and has a heck of a good time, so the next day he is wore out (it's cute).

Maybe Quest just wanted a little break from running around. MY OPINION, if he's still eating, basking and pooping normally then I DO NOT THINK there is anything wrong.

i agree, uros will take days off too. helga is extrememly lazy and loves to hide, everyday. also on cloudy days, my lizards will all be lazy...all those lightbulbs do not stop them from feeling nature.
plus it is november and now that he is all settled, maybe he is slowing down for the winter

I agree with the previous posts, keep an eye on him, but they do sort of take mini-vacations from reality sometimes and just sleep for a day or two. I wish I could do the same!

As long as your temps are still good (keep in mind your house is probably colder now that it was in the summer, so you may eventually need to up the wattage or add more lights), and he is eating and alert, he sounds ok.

Way to be so observant and in touch with your lizzardy friend!

He is very active today and seems to be making up for yesterday.

I think he is fine. Yes, I wish I could also take a day off now and again. He really scared me yesterday. Thanks for the advice.

That is so good to hear! It always amazes me how attached we get to the little guys.
