Support for basking island....

laughingdragons Nov 16, 2004 06:13 PM

I bought a new basking dock and my female turtle seems to be to heavy for it...that or I have it in there wrong.

My BF suggested using a wire hanger to support underneath it...by straightening the hanger out than placing it under the dock on one end and have it going up and around the top of the tank.

would a wire hanger harm the turtles (I have 2 of them)?

I hope I explained it well enough

thanks,
Jeanette

dont know about all metals but stainless steal kinds should be fine. maybe try plastic things, like something you could get in the kitchen dept of walmarts. drying racks and that kind of thing. theres lots of diferrent kinds of things that work

Thanks

my dad mentioned stainless steel

I do have a cave in their tank with a couple bricks in it. I'm thinking of buying 2 more bricks to raise the cave high enough...the cave is under the island

thanks again
Jeanette
