Black and whites not taking fruit.....

varanidfan Nov 16, 2004 09:20 PM

how critical is them taking fruit, i feed rodents, and chopped peeps, they were on a heavy insect diet but grew too large to effectively catch them. I am now offering mice, chopped rats, and chopped peeps, and ground turkey supplemented with miner-all. they are growing big and fast, always have good easy sheds which last about 3 days or so, they seem to be in perfect health, so should i worry about it or will they take it in due time?

As the black and white gets older it may eat fruit if offered, but if it doesn't don't fret. Continue your normal feeding habits and as long as you are giving proper suppliments and have proper UVB lighting you will have no problems.

I have had success in feeding picky b&w tegus chopped in half grapes. Just keep an eye on your animals shedding, because fruit ususally plays a vital role in good sheds.
