The first guy who bred this morph called it a licorice stick - no idea why. i think white sided fits better, personally. here's a picture of mine, about a year and a half old, wrapped up with my black ratsnake.

Rat/Corn snake care sheet I wrote
Current snakes:
0.1 Licorice Stick Black Rat (Lola)
1.0 Black Rat (Frankie)
1.1 Texas Bairds (Jose and Rosa)
0.1 Blue Beauty (Brunhilde)
1.0 Green Tree Python (Caligula)... coming soon
I have wondered myself, but never asked. I think it's really pretty.
texas rats have a pattern much like that one, and most black rats have more of a uniform striping pattern running down the back than the one shown.....
it may be an exceptional black rat with a excess of white, I would bet it isnt black rat, more like a lindheim aka texas rat.....but would NOT be a juvie
the colors and pattern have faded as they do in adults.....
either way it is an exceptional snake....one i would love to add to my collection

i had my doubts.....so i emailed Mike Panic, He told me it is a regular whiteside from MYEXOTIX line of extreme whiteside.....
these tend to have more white and sporadic flecking in the scales
beautiful......none of mine exhibit this

my whiteside has a couple scales down here side just every now and then are dark...is this what you're referring to when you say it's got the sporadic fleckling in the scales?
