Need help with yellow ackies what temps to hibernate at?

critters4all Nov 17, 2004 12:39 AM

Hi,

I have a trio of adult yellow ackies and I was wondering if these needed to be hibernated or not. I have heard different things about these monitors. If someone could please give me some information about these monitors I would greatly appreciate it. I would say that since they are from Australia that they would need to be cooled but I am not sure how long and at what temps? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Thanks Hank

They don't need to be cooled.

As an aside, this may come as a bit of a surprise to a lot of people on this forum, but Australia's actually quite a large country with a fairly wide range of climates, from cool temperate to tropical. This isn't a dig at you in particular, so please don't take this the wrong way, but I do find it amusing when people (no, you aren't the first) say things such as "since they come from Australia, they must...", as though there is one homogenous habitat throughout the continent.

They never need cooled, brumated etc.
I like FRs advice on this "Keep'em hot feedum alot".
