Alright, heres the story. I'm a college student and I live in a rental house. I have an extra room that my roommates have allowed to be the "dragon room." My problem is that the room only has a baseboard heater with an inaccurate thermostat/reostat and no AC or other cooling device. Until now I have been regulating the temps in the room by opening the window varying amounts during the day to prevent overheating and closing it and turning on the heat at night. I have done a pretty good job at keeping temps where they should be, but I am starting to get fed up with this inexact science. So are my roommates. Everytime I want to go home for a day or two I have to constantly call them and ask them to check the temps for me and tell them what adjustments to make.
My question is: Is there anyway to rig up this room so that I can set a temp on a thermostat and the room will stay at that temp? Or is there any other way to regulate the temp. in my "dragon room".
I worry that one of these times the room is going to overheat or get too cold at night. I live in Ohio so with the changing seasons and varying temps it has been even more difficult to keep my room temps steady.
