Making a new enclosure for my iguana and need to know what to seal the pine wood with? Were can i get it and how much am I looking to spend?

Making a new enclosure for my iguana and need to know what to seal the pine wood with? Were can i get it and how much am I looking to spend?

You can go with a latex stain and then 1 or 2 coats of polyurethane, or just go with a few coats of poly if you don't care about appearance. A 1/2 gallon will probably be plenty, but buying the gallon may be more economical. A bead of silicone around your seams will also go a long way in preserving the wood from moisture damage. Any hardware store or home improvement place will do.
