wow~ He's out and letting me watch him

I know this probably seems to silly to a lot of you, but this is the first time he didn't just disapear when he realized I was in the room. (Black rough neck monitor, we've had him for 18 days) I was sitting here tapping away at the PC~ and caught movement out of the corner of my eye~ he was out of his hide and checking out the basking area. I sat still and watched him for a while, but then the cat noticed him and ran over to have a look~ he whipped down into the closest hide. I figured that was it~ I made the cat get down and I came back over here and sat down~

Within just a few min he came back out and is re-arranging his home~

And the cat is watching from distance~ and I'm sure he knows both me and the cat are here!

I know, it's a silly thing to be so pleased about~ but I am~ maybe someday he will learn to be more comfortable here.

Rudicollis are the best. It dosn't take them long to adjust and then they often show no fear. I used to be able to feed mine by hand. Now I use tongs cause i like my fingers attached to my hand. Hes pretty mellow though.
