hello, i have had a particular blackthroat that is about 3ft long for about 2mos now, in the beginning she was viciously mean, tail whipping gaping her mouth the whole nine yards. she is now getting a little better, doesnt freak out when i enter the cage, doesnt try to bite at all, isnt the friendliest yet, but definately showing progress, It takes time for your monitor to learn routines, feeding etc. and who brings it and that you arent a threat to your monitor, once they dont percieve you as dangerous then tehy seem to relax, and get a bit more trustworthy. 4 days isnt long enough, I have had a small juvi banded whitethroat for about a week and slowly is showing trust and tolerating me a little day by day, just be patient.

>>my baby blackthroat is very defensive, but only if i touch
him. he hisses and tail slaps but dosent try to bite. if i pick him up, he'll squirm around until i put him back. will this go away with age and size, or do i have to handle him to get him to relax? also, ive only had him for 4 days, perhaps he hasnt had enough time to settle down. any help is appreciated!
