maintaining ambient temps

rudyyj Nov 17, 2004 01:10 PM

with cold weather upon us, i am noticing that the ambiant temp in my vields cage is starting to get a little to low, about 70 or so. The basking area is fine but with the room temps being 69 or less (I have a programable thermostat for the house that drops down to 62 when i'm not home) how do you maintain the ambient temps.

and on a related not, how cold is acceptable for a overnight temp, i have seen conflicting info that puts it anywher from above freezing to 75. mine is getting to be about 61, is this to low?

I had the same problem 61 is kinda low although i had some that would tolerate it for minimal periods
what i did to remedy the problem was...i bought a ceramic heat emiter that i replaced their basking light with so i could leave it on all the time
