For those of you using them to house your dragons, I would love to see pictures, or at least a description on how you have them set up?

Marcia, I know in our previous correspondence you mentioned that you were experimenting with a new set-up.

I'm interested in the pros and cons of using this option for my MHD's. It seems that they get a bum-wrap for keeping virtually everything but chameleons.

mine is big enough, and the plastic lining in mine is INSIDE the screen (next time I will find a way to put it outside so the dragons have more surface to climb on) I had a tree (a Dwarf azalia) that died from either to much or not enough water, but the leaves are falling off slowly, and the dragons each have their favorite places to pearch on it. Sometimes I cannot find on for a while. I still have the paint tray in with the filter to bubble/splash the water a bit, and I have the container of substraite in there if they want to dig, and the food dish.

FroggieB's idea about the superworms helping stabalize the environemnt may be a good one, and help break down the leaves in there. I will give it a try
I did take a nail and punch holes in the bottom of the tub of substraite to keep water from poling at the bottom and getting truely NASTY

Hope this helps

I am hoping to break down one of my large vivs this weekend and when I set it back up I will take pics as I go. I'll make sure I post them when I'm done. I know what I want to do and hopefully it will turn out as I have planned.

I need to get my A. armata moved to one of the large ones with a substrate filled bottom soon. I noticed that the female didn't want any roaches this morning and that is unusual for her. Neither of the armata turns down anything! So I gently palpated her abdomen and she actually let me without a fuss. I am pretty sure I felt multiple lumps in there so I really do think that she is gravid. I would hate to try and find them in the set-up she is currently in!

I should be receiving my 175's today or tomorrow.

It should be interesting for the three of us to compare notes on what appears to work very well and what does not. Given the screening, I keep thinking that this must provide the animals with a good deal more usable space within the enclosure when contrasted with solid surfaces.

My plan is to build a lightweight wooden canopy that will sit on top of the frame. Inside the frame will be 2 24" reptisun 5.0's and a 12x12" radiant heat panel. Underneath the enclosure I plan on using human heating pads to keep some warmth in the substrate and water basin. I plan on using coir for substrate. Is this generally what each of you uses as well? I hope to deck out the enclosures with lots of silks, similar to my big enclosure. Plan on using a hygrometer to keep tabs on humidity.

Whacky thing was, the covering that came with one of them was for a 100, not a 175 - very bizarre.
I couldn't figure out how I was supposed to get what looked like a 15 inch side on the covering, to fit on the 27 inch frame.
So I opened the other one, and realized that it wasn't just me after all.

I deal with Herpsupplies.com

and thus far, have nothing but good things to say about them. I let them know about the issue and they shipped a new cover out immediately.
