What kinds are my 2 leos?

nomadofthehills Nov 17, 2004 05:10 PM

Hi, I've had my 2 guys for about 6 years now, and now i'm almost 17. I do research for all my herps, but I just realized I have never looked at a caresheet for leos since I got them when I was little, they were just always there...

Anyway, I think I wanna try breeding my Leos if I get a male (they are both female). However I don't knw what type they are. I got them at a reptile show I begged my dad to bring me to, back in the day

One is really dark colored, and the other is more yellow.

This is my yellower one ^

THanks, and BTW thants not the cage I keep them in

I dunno they looks like normal leopard geckos to me. The yellower one seems to have a sort of saddle back thing and the other one is really dark, but I still think they are just regular leos.

As far as breeding is concerned, I'm not sure that would even be such a good idea with these 2 females. You said they were about 7 years old.....thats pretty darn old, i think females are in their prime for breeding at like 2-5 years of age (??? rough estimate). Thats not to say that they wont produce eggs, but I dont think it would be very healthy for them.

I really like my dark colored one...

nd if they are too old then I won't try to breed em, I like em to much to risk their health.

I think the lighter one is Hypo and the darker one is normal.

iamyour_messiah Nov 18, 2004 11:59 AM

I dunno, i guess it depends on the person but I deffinately wouldnt call that hypo....id even be hesitant to call it high yellow, casue its has alot of spots.

leopardgeckoman Nov 18, 2004 07:49 PM

LOL! thats not even close to a high yellow, all high yellers have absoultly no spots on their hind legs (mabye an occasional 1 or 2 but no more).
