I really wouldn't feed stuff from outside becasue of parasites and pesticides. It depends where u live. For the crickets they can drown easily in water. They are kinda dumb and can even drown from water below their feet. Try giving them appropriate lighting and moist soil if ur keeping them for a while.Keep em in a container with stuff to climb around in and places to hide. I think crinkled up paper towels and egg cartons work best. And if ur crix still keep dieng then it might b from something else. Mayb mites. Gl

O yea u can give them water by giving them moist tissues or sponges. Wash sponges well becasue they might have cleanser stuff thet the crix might eat which ur frog might eat also.

How big are the crix? Adult crix only live a few days. I am thinking some of the trouble is the source and some is that they may just be old and dying. Otherwise, are they getting chilled or cooked on the trip home? Crix are fragile PITA, especially in small numbers.

Crickets are naturally cannibals so if kept in a small space with minimal hiding places they will not survive long. I use a one gallon for my feeders and a two gallon for my breeders both have tons of hiding places such as paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls and cardboard egg crates (they can be cut smaller) I also use flukers cricket quencher for their water source it has a gel type consistency, I use the one with added calcium. You can feed just about any fruits and vegetables but I use cricket feed as a staple diet to gut load them. Another thing that may make them live longer is warmth. Hope this helps!
