i know i don't post here much but the weirdest thing just happened with my bci. i am lying on the couch this evening after everyone else has gone to bed when i hear this honking sound. (that is the best way i can describe it)coming from the other side of the room. at first i am thinking the cat must have a fur ball or something. but the sound was persistent. and it is pretty loud. (loud enough for me to hear it quite plainly over the television)i start to walk over to the sound and realize it is coming from the aquarium that i keep my bci in! i look thru the glass and she has her head sticking out of the hide with her mouth wide open making these honking sounds. like i said they sounded like a cat trying to get a furball up or something. i freaked out enough to wake my wife up. when she came out to look, joey did it about two more times. and then all was well. tongue flicking and everything. she responds just fine to movement in front of her face. and everything. can someone please tell me what the heck that was? joey is about 4 feet long. she is about 7 or 8 months old. she had a pretty big rat about 9 days ago. she took that without a problem.she stays in a 52 gallon aquarium. temps are fine. she has a big bucket of water in that she used to soak in quite a bit. but not so much anymore. we had a run in with mites about 2 weeks ago but proventomite took care of that. there is no sign of an ri. no mucos coming from the mouth. no noise when she breaths. mouth isn't hanging open. none of that stuff. like i said, can someone please share any similar experiences with me. it really freaked me out. debi (my wife) is going to make an appointment with the vet tomorro.
thanks
