kings are more!

Hey man no disrespect but that is really not a cool thing to post. I'm a bigger king fan than corn fan but some individual on this forum like myself may take offense to a photo like that. hopefully that corn was already dead when it was "attacked" by the king.

How can you say that? Do you get offended when youfeed your snake rats, or see pics of people feeding snakes rats.Thats what kings do,isn't that what makes them awsome, and so diffrent. At least that is one reason why kings fscinate me.

OK Daniel, no i doni get offended when i see someone feeding there snake a rodent, and no i doni get offended when i feed rodents to my snakes, but this is a snake discussion forum where other members own corn snakes, i don't any pure corns but i do own Jungle corns. so to post a pic of a kingsnake eating a corn does offend me personally, if it doesn't offend you then that's your business. how would you feel if you saw a snake (that was identical to one you own) being eaten by another king would that please you?! any way like i said it offends me personally. there is a major difference in seeing a snake eating another snake and a snake eating a rodent. if the snake that was being fed was a rattle snake or another type of poisonous snake it would have been slightly easier for me to deal with.
I hope that answer's your question!

Ok, im not trying to offend anyone, but what you said was a bit hypocritical.First of all, you say that it is offending to see a snake eat a snake identical to your own; yet you dont own any PURE corn snakes. And what about the people that keep venomous reptiles. They are a snake just like a corn only they have the potential to extreme harm. Again im not trying to offend anyone here, but I do find that you have taken this to the extreme.
hey you're entitled to your opinion, i gave my take on the situation... what ever anyone wants to do with it is there business, I'm just not in the moody to have this discussion n e more... no disrespect intended! just going through a rough time.
but thanx for your opinion

It's kind of hard to get offended to see a pic of a snake eating a F/T already dead rodent... Much more ezy to get offended by a pic like this.. Mike
what's your point
That king has about the best black i have ever seen!!! GREAT PIC and thanks for really rockin this forum. Was the corn a non-feeder?
But I would only share them if I felt it would somehow educate someone on something.... And even if I did I would share the circumstances and why it was necessary to feed that corn to the king.
AND for those who are interested, I'll share the story now... but not the photos.
Most of the people in the cornsnake forum realize that I had an awful year breeding corns. 38 eggs went full term, and ALL of them were kinked and otherwise deformed. I euthanized all but 8 of the corns, and 5 of those I didn't euthanize ended up helping my one stubborn non-feeder come to be a little piggy. One of the baby corns was looking dehydrated and was barely anything more than skin and bones.... It certainly didn't look like it would last another day. It hatched the same day nearly 9 weeks previously as my kings hatched, and all but one of those were feeding like crazy. But one would refuse any meal offered to it. So finally I decided to see what his response would be to my poor non-feeder corn. I like to document all phazes of my snakes' lives, though I don't share most of those photos. So I had my camera out. And when the king snake took about 2 milliseconds to decide the corn was food, I was semi-delighted to see him strike and had the camera clicking away. I felt bad/sad for the little corn. I'd had high hopes for my corns this year, and saw only sadness instead. But the king finished his meal. He continued to refuse the pinkies I brought him, and the few "keeper" corns I was trying to save were dying off... so I continued to feed him until all five non-feeder corns had been consumed. The next time I was to feed the kingsnake baby I had had a tragedy and all of my pregnant breeder mice were killed by an AC failure... so I got all my frozen euthanized hatchling corns and thawed out five of them to feed to the kings. 4 ate, one refused to eat a snake, so another that was first not offered a snake was given the chance. My supply of frozen cornsnake babies ran out just as my mouse colonies rebounded and started to provide me with babies.
And for kicks, here's a photo of one of the deformed babies that was NOT fed off (still frozen in my freezer)... conjoined twins:

Sasheena,
It's pretty hypocritical of you to accuse other people in this forum of misrepresenting their post topics. Before you accuse others you should take a look at yourself and how you titled this post. You really ought to practice what you preach and not mislead people on your posts, especially after disrespecting others for it. *ie. Claming you have pics of a king eating a corn and not showing them.*
cool snake is it a hybrid or ?
TY
It's actually a San Luis Potosi Kingsnake (Lamp. mex mex).
Happy Herping,
Uncloudy

Why don't you think a getula vs. corn would be educational? That would be much more interesting and natural than a pic of a dead misfortunate creature, hope you do better next season.
No they certainly dont mix.. So why did you mix them.? was this on purpose.? Did it happen b4 you could stop it..? Or did ya juss wanna feed the nice lil corn to the king. I would'nt post that in the corn forum.. Who knows you may have already... Pe@ce.. MIke

Not very cool at all.
but both of those animals were non eaters the corn was a runt !i would think that the first complainer would feed those cute warm blooded Fancy Mice . WarmBlooded Mammals vs.Cold Blooded herps?. and you may find that many of your better King breeders raise a few corns just for stubborn Kings. Getulas Rule Chris
I don't think anyone would have been offended if you'd simply stated that both were non-feeders... that way all would understand the reasoning behind the photo. I'm glad you got your king to eat. Sorry you had to lose the corn.

hopefully this may educate atleast one new person to the hobby that kings and corns are incompatible

I don't know where I heard it, but once I heard someone complaining about what a rotten year they had.... left their corn with their king so they would produce jungle corns, and got one fat king as well....
Thanks for pointing that out.
Nice King btw
